A woman has died following a fire at a flat in Langton Place, Bury St Edmunds.
Police said the woman, believed to be in her 50s, died in hospital today.
Her next of kin have been informed although her name has not been released by police at this stage.
The fire, which broke out in a second floor flat at about 8.45pm yesterday, is not being treated as suspicious.
Firefighters rescued her from the building and gave emergency CPR before paramedics arrived and took over.
They managaed to restart her heart after the woman went into cardiac arrest due to the smoke she inhaled.
She was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where she died earlier today.
Firefighters are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
