A 23-year-old woman has died following a road traffic collision in Bury St Edmunds during the early hours of this morning.
The woman was a pasenger in a silver Vauxhall Astra which left the road along Compiegne Way at about 12.35am.
She was found unconscious at the scene by paramedics, who treated a male driver for an arm injury.
The woman was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where she later died.
There were no other passengers in the car.
The road was closed for a period of time for collision investigators and diversions were put in place.
The Suffolk Accident Rescue Service also provided aid with Dr Jeremy Mauger attending the incident.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact the Bury St Edmunds Roads Policing Unit on 101.
