There will be a chance to meet the queen in Bury St Edmunds next weekend, but you won’t have to curtsey.

West Suffolk Beekeeping Association will have an observation hive at its Annual Honey show on September 5 and 6 in which you will be able to see the queen.

The show is at the Wyevale Garden Centre in Rougham Road and will be buzzing with bee and honey related exhibits and activities.

Association chair Zac Blackmore said: “I would hope to see around 150 exhibits of honey and associated products produced by local beekeepers, competing for recognition.

“This makes for a good display, which we use to promote our association and provide information about beekeeping to members of the public.”

It is not all honey, for example, children will be invited to roll their own candle from beeswax. You can also taste and buy honey.
