THE Met Office has issued a weather warning for the East of England for most of tomorrow.
The yellow ‘be aware’ warning is active from midnight tonight until 9pm on Wednesday and follows a similar warning for heavy rain on Saturday, which proved timely.
The Met Office says a band of heavy rain will move eastwards across the UK on Wednesday.
“The rain is likely to be accompanied by gusty winds,” it warns. “This will be followed by scattered heavy showers giving some locally thundery downpours
“The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding which could lead to disruption to travel. The main risk of this is particularly associated with the heavy showers later in the morning and during the afternoon.”
