HUNDREDS enjoyed the sunshine at the annual Wetherden Village Fete on Saturday - to raise money for a new clockface for the village’s church.

The recreation ground was bursting with entertainment with donkey rides, a dog show, archery lessons, and a host of wheelbarrow and sack races.

Villager Michelle Mutton said: “They have got a lot of things for the kids to do, it is even bigger than last year.”

All money made at the fete is going to local clubs and charities, including plans for a new clockface for the village’s church which is set to cost £8,000.

Pamela Cowley, from the organising committee, said: “We have never had so many people at the fete.”
