HUNDREDS of cars gathered in Thurston on Sunday for the village’s fourth annual Cars On The Green classic car show.

The event, organised by Bury Retro Ford, was open to all car clubs, whatever the make, and with more than 500 cars on display there was plenty of variety to see.

There were several trophies up for grabs and rosettes for second and third places in each category, which included best 70s and best 80s car, as well as best car in show.

Each of the categories were sponsored by local businesses who judged their category on the day.

Stuart Monk, 30, from Barnham, won a rosette for second place in the best car in show category. He displayed his Ford Focus RS MK2, which proved a popular choice with visitors.

“I was surprised to win this due to the high standard of restored classic Fords there on the day but still very happy to accept it,” he said.

All of the proceeds from the show will go to Macmillan nurses and Help For Heroes.
