Teenager singer-songwriter Fern Teather is funding her debut album through global crowd funding website Kickstarter.
The 19-year-old from Needham Market has set a target of £2,000 to raise - and has already topped the £1,600 mark.
“I have got enough money to record the album but the Kickstarter project is to get it mastered and to get the packaging designed and produced. “I am in the process of recording the album now.
“I knew I needed to do something with crowd funding so I looked into it and there are a lot of sites that ask people for money.
“But I felt it was a bit cheeky doing that.
“I saw Kickstarter and how you can give something back in return for the donations you receive and thought it was a really good idea.”
Fern plans to release her as yet unnamed debut album in October.
Fern said there are eleven different pledges you can make for her Kickstarter album - from £1 to £300 - and different gifts you will receive for each.
For example, for £1 you will receive a thank you email, for £15 you get a handwritten thank you note and a pre-release copy of the album.
For £150 Fern will play a gig at your home and for £300 she will write and perform a song, just for you.
