A 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a doctors surgery in Chapel Road, Boughton yesterday.
The man, from the Downham Market area, who was originally arrested on suspicion of criminal damage was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre where officers have now been granted a superintendents extension to question him further.
As a result of related enquiries police were also at a property in Feltwell but have now left the scene.
Yesterday, Thursday January 28, The surgery, near Downham Market, was sealed off by police following the discovery of two suspicious devices.
Officers attended shortly before 7.30am after staff reported finding damage in the foyer area and canisters.
Specialists from the bomb disposal unit also subsequently attended the scene.
A 100-metre cordon was put in place as a precaution resulting in the road being closed.
The road was re-opened at 2.30pm and the seal at the surgery, which had been in place throughout the day, was lifted.
A police spokesman said: “No one was injured during this incident and we would like to reassure local residents that we do not believe that there was at any point, a wider threat to members of the public.”
