The A14 has reopened following an incident earlier this morning in which a car spun out of control on ice.
Police were called to the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at around 6.50am after a Ford Ka lost control on an icy section of the road between junctions 46 (Thurston) and 47 (Woolpit).
A police spokesman said the vehicle came to a stop in the middle of the carriageway and a Vauxhall Vivaro van, thought to have been taking evasive action, then collided with the central reservation.
The road was closed because of the icy conditions until Highways were able ‘to come and deal with the road and get it in a safe condition’.
Diversions were in place until the road reopened at around 9.40am.
