A university student from Horringer has turned one of her degree projects into a new business with the launch of a clothing line.

Krysten Newby, 21, a graphic design student at University Campus Suffolk in Bury St Edmunds, has been working on setting up Awfully Good Apparel since April this year.

On Friday the website went live.

“We had an art and graphic design exhibition earlier this year. I exhibited some of my clothing designs then and I got quite a lot of interest.”

Krysten, who says she is inspired by British culture, kept a mailing list from the exhibition which she contacted ahead of Friday’s launch.

“It is something that I have wanted to do for a long while,” said Krysten who is about to start her final year at university.

“I have had several orders so far. I hope it is going to snowball. I’m quite proud of what I have achieved. It has been a lot of hard work but it is something I hope to continue as a sideline business.”
