A budding web designer from University Campus Suffolk has teamed up with an environmental group from Bury to help get its website off the ground.

Andre Rhys, 20, a second year computing and networking student at the university’s Bury campus, won a competition run by action group Sustainable Bury to design its website - and will continue to work as the group’s web developer.

Fiona Strachan and Pippa Judd of Sustainable Bury presented the web-savvy student with a gift voucher to thank him for his winning entry and his continued involvement with the group.

Andre’s tutor, computing lecturer Elaine Eagles, said: “He had to go away during the competition period, but he made sure his design was perfect before he left, which really demonstrated his commitment.

“This will help to build his own experience and portfolio, and help him towards his goal of becoming a web designer.”

Fiona said: “We were really impressed with Andre’s design and his committment to the project.”

Fiona and Pippa are hoping the website will be up and running soon to promote Sustainable Bury’s Green Fair on November 1.
