Two riders hurt in motorcycle collision at Botesdale

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in which two motorcyclists were seriously hurt.

The collision happened on the A143 at Botesdale at about 5.40am this morning, Friday and between two Honda motorcycles.

Both male riders had serious injuries and one is described as having possibly life changing injuries.

Police, ambulance and a volunteer doctor from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service attended the scene and both riders were taken to the West Suffolk Hospital.

The A143 was closed between Mill Road and Bury Road and diversions are in place but expected to re-open by 10am.

Anyone who witnessed this collision or saw the bikes travelling along the road before the collision is asked to call PC Adam Haylock at Bury St Edmunds Roads Policing and Firearms Operations Unit on 101.
