FIRE and ambulance crews were called to a serious road accident this evening in Westley Lane, Bury St Edmunds.
Two crews from Bury St Edmunds attended after a motorbike and grey Renault Scenic were in collision.
Crews rescued a motor cyclist whose bike had ended up in a hedgerow and an air ambulance was scrambled from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance service.
The East Anglian Ambulance Service was also on scene. A spokeswoman said they were called at 4.36pm to the incident where a man was thrown from his bike and suffered multiple injuries.
He was stabilised by medics at the scene and taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Another patient was taken to West Suffolk Hospital.
