A POLICE crackdown on raves has started in earnest after two men were charged in connection with an illegal event last month.
Terrance Mitchell, 22, of South Street, in Hockwold, and Warwick Andrew, also 22, of Queen Street, in Swaffham, have been charged by Norfolk Police in connection with a rave that took place in Feltwell on March 4.
Mitchell has been charged with theft of sound speakers and obstruction of a police officer. Andrew has been charged with organising an unlicensed musical event.
They will appear before King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court on April 16.
The pairs’ charges come just days after police warned revellers that they would be taking a zero tolerance approach across Norfolk.
That followed a raid on an illicit event involving 500 trespassers in Burnham Market near King’s Lynn.
Thirteen arrests were made at the event, with drug possession among the charges.
Chief Superintendent Nick Dean warned that officers would intervene and seize sound equipment at similar events.
