Two non-executive directors of the East of England Ambulance Trust have resigned in two days.

The trust said on Wednesday that Caroline Bailes, who has been on the board since 2006, would step down at the end of July when her four-year term of office ends. The trust said she was leaving to focus more time on work away from the ambulance service.

Yesterday Margaret Stockham, who was educated in Bury St Edmunds andonly joined the board in August, tweeted: “Have stepped down from NED of EEAST. Sorry to leave but wish the Board and their great staff all the best.”

The trust was unable to confirm it before we went to press yesterday.
