Children at Bardwell Primary School have celebrated planting more than 100 trees on the village field by re-naming their classes after them.

Youngsters donned their wellies and waterproofs to help complete hedging for the Bardwell Community Field which, when all funding is in place, will offer residents a sensory garden, orchard, allotments, a new play area, junior football pitch and a sports field for the school.

Head of school Claire Dunnell Paley said: “Outdoor learning is very important to everyone at Bardwell School and extends the excellent Forest School provision we have for Reception and Year 6 pupils.

The school is the heart of the village and, alongside the rest of the community, we have a shared responsibility in caring for our local environment.”
