ROYAL wedding fever may have faded, but one group of people are still celebrating in the wake of the event.
The winners of the Bid4Bury and Bury Free Press Royal wedding treasure hunt gathered on Tuesday to collect their prizes.
Twenty prizes were presented to 11 children and nine adults in the Jacques Vert department at Palmers, in Bury – the main sponsor of the treasure hunt.
Event organiser Jackie Regan, from Bid4Bury, said: “The town centre businesses really embraced this competition and a lot of them have already asked whether we can do another one.”
Diana Coleman, of Sextons Meadow, Bury, won the top prize, a £200 voucher from Jacques Vert. She said: “I thought the competition was a great idea as I found myself looking in windows of shops that I might have otherwise walked by.”
The competition to find ten Royal or wedding-themed items displayed in shop and business windows in the town ran in April.
“It was a great way of getting people in the Royal Wedding spirit ahead of the big day itself,” said Barry Peters, Bury Free Press editor.
