You can now travel back in time online thanks to Suffolk Records Office.

It now offers online resources at www.suffolkarchives.co.uk to help you search for a person or piece of information. The new website allows users to access catalogues for the records from home and means many more will be able to use the service.

Since December, researchers have been able to buy and download digital copies of wills and to request quotations for copies of other items. More records are being digitised and added to the collection on an on-going basis.

Cllr Richard Smith, cabinet member for finance and heritage said: “It allows people far greater access than ever before to be able to research Suffolk’s History as well as their own roots.

The Record Office will be adding more content, both catalogues and digitised records to the website over the coming months.
