EMERGENCY services were called after a van overturned in a ditch on the A143 at Chedburgh on Wednesday morning.
Initially it was reported that people were trapped in the van, following the crash close to Rede Hall.
Paramedics were called at 8.41am and arrived to find the driver had already got out and left the scene.
Suffolk Fire Service sent a fire engine from Wickhambrook, one from Bury and an enhanced rescue tender.
A spokesman said they initially had reports of people trapped inside the van but arrived to find it empty and then made the vehicle safe.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Police said they had been getting calls throughout the morning reporting that the van, a white Vauxhall Combo, was in the ditch. Police were trying to arrange its recovery early yesterday afternoon.
“Nobody was hurt in the accident. The road was cordoned off so we could check the van. It appears the owner left the scene but was not injured,” she added.
