A MAN has died after his car collided with a parked lorry on the A14.
Emergency services were called to an accident at 11.15pm on Sunday after a green Volkswagen Sharan collided with a stationary lorry parked in a layby between the Haughley and Stowupland junctions on the eastbound carriageway of the A14.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s from the Hadleigh area, was the only occupant of the car.
Four fire crews from Stowmarket, Needham Market, Bury St Edmunds and Elmswell attended the incident to release the casualty from his car which was trapped under the lorry.
The East of England Ambulance Service said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No-one else was injured.
The east bound carriageway of the A14 was closed for five-and-a-half hours while police investigated the accident scene and a diversion was set up through Stowmarket.
