CCTV pictures of a vehicle that police would like to trace in connection with a fatal hit and run collision in Hitcham have been released.

Police were called yesterday, Tuesday November 29, at just after 1pm to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle on Finborough Road, Hitcham. The male cyclist sadly died following the incident.

The cyclist, a man in his 70s, appears to have been struck by a vehicle which failed to stop at the scene.

Officers are urgently appealing for the driver or owner of the white DAF LF vehicle to come forward.

“I’M HERE” can be seen written in dirt on the back of the lorry. If you saw this lorry yesterday, or if you captured pictures of vehicle on your dashboard camera, or if you are aware of such a vehicle having sustained damage to the front nearside (passenger side) please contact officers as soon as possible.

Anybody who was in the area at around 1pm who may witnessed the collision or saw anything, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD 179 of 29 November.
