Accident closes A140

The A140 was closed at Brockford Street this morning following an accident involving three vehicles.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 7.40am this morning after a Renault, a Ford and a Volkswagen were involved in a collision.

A fire engine from Needham Market, an emergency rescue tender from Ipswich and a pump rescue tender from Stowmarket attended to release a man who was trapped in one of the cars.

He was then taken to Ipswich Hospital by paramedics. His injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

A number of other casualties were treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed and diversions were put in place.
