THETFORD is looking that little bit cleaner after more than 150 volunteers went on a mass litter-pick.

Church members from the Latter Day Saints Church celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Church Welfare Programme by cleaning up Station Road, Norwich Road and adjoining streets.

Ten bags of litter, glass bottles and bicycle tyres were picked up on the way.

Peter Cliften, from the Latter Day Saints Church, said: “The litter pick was a great opportunity for our members to feel that they were doing something for their community and to be seen to be doing so.”

The volunteers were assisted by Pride in Breckland team who helped out as part of its six-week long Breckland Blitz initiative.

Breckland staff provided the volunteers with equipment for the litter pick.
