BURY St Edmunds is in the running for the title of Great Town 2012.
The town has been shortlisted for the accolade, which is handed out by the Academy of Urbanism, with Totnes and Londonderry.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council is now looking for comments from residents, visitors and businesses about what they think makes Bury great to impress the judges when they visit next month.
Cllr John Griffiths, leader of the council, said: “People who know Bury know it’s a wonderful, and indeed unique, town - now we just have to prove this to the judges.”
Bury has already beaten off competition from towns such as Shrewsbury, Lerwick and Hastings on the original list of 10 nominations.
