A MOTHER and toddler group and village WI have teamed up to support each other and now the toddler group has raised enough funds to buy the WI a new banner.

Horringer Hedgehogs was formed three years ago and has been going from strength to strength and the village WI has been helping out with teas and refreshments at the group’s daily sessions.

The toddler group which supports between 50 and 60 mums each week has over the year raised £1,100 and has been putting some of that money back into the local community.

Toddler group chairman Lisa Hasler said: “They have been helping us over the year and we have raised this money and decided to buy them a new banner to thank them.”

Horringer Hedgehogs began three years ago after the original toddler group disbanded and grants from St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Suffolk County Council enabled it to replace a lot of equipment.

The group’s fund-raising mainly been supports children’s charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital and West Suffolk Hospital’s Rainbow Ward.

The new banner will be on show at tomorrow’s WI Jumble Sale at Horringer Community Centre at 1pm.
