NEW art classes for the under fives kicked off in Moreton Hall with the theme ‘in the garden’.

Youngsters attending last month’s official launch of Little Squigglers were kept busy with a variety of activities including making hedgehogs out of clay and playing with wiggly worms made from cooked, dyed spaghetti.

Mother of two Amanda Wigzell, who founded the messy play club last year, said: “They really enjoyed it. Working with things like clay was different for a lot of the children who hadn’t felt that before, and the spaghetti and compost offered them a whole new experience, allowing them to play with different textures and get messy without any worries from their mums.”

The classes are held at Moreton Hall Community Centre, in Symonds Road, on Mondays at 10am and 11am, and elsewhere throughout the week.

There will also be two half term holiday workshops for children in Moreton Hall up to 12-years-old, focusing on 3D art activities.
