The sixth Thurston Fun Run will be on the starting blocks on Sunday May 5 this year.
It was begun by four dads wanting to raise money for sports facilities in the village, which is still its main aim, but runners can be sponsored for their own favourite charity as well.
The event has grown over the years and last year attracted 200 runners though one of the organisers David Whiting said they were hoping for an even better turnout because another run scheduled for the same day has been postponed.
For the first time you do not even have to leave your armchair to enter because you can fill in an online at www.thurstonfunrun.org and pay the entry fee using Paypal.
There is a 10km run at £10 per entry and 3km run at £5.
