More than 3,000 people attended Stowmarket’s second annual Beach Party at the weekend - despite gloomy grey skies.
Saturday’s event saw a giant sandpit created on the Recreation Ground along with stalls, a bouncy castle, live music and an open air screening of the summer classic Grease.
This year’s Beach Party saw a new addition to the event, The Golden Mile - a timed running race organised by the Stowmarket Striders.
The race saw 255 people take to the streets to complete one mile as fast as possible - set off by World Indoor Bowls champion Katherine Rednall.
David Marsh, who organised the Beach Party, said: “Considering it started to rain an hour before the event started, the Beach Party was fantastic.”
