Laptops worth £8,000 have been stolen from a school in Risby.

Police are appealing for information after thieves forced their way into Risby Church of England Voluntary Controlled School, in Aylmer Close, Risby, between 5.30-9.15pm on Saturday.

Once inside, they forced open a cabinet and stole 16 Dell laptop computers.

This is the second theft of computers from a school in a matter of weeks.

Fifteen Dell laptops were stolen from a secure cabinet in Rougham Primary School, in Church Walk, Rougham, between December 21, 2012, and January 2, 2013.

A police spokeswoman said they were looking into whether there were any potential links between the two thefts but had not been able to link them at present.

Anyone who may know who took the computers, or who has any other information, should call PC Simon Collins at Ixworth Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
