Thieves failed to hot wire a car after a break-in in Thetford.
The Citroen Xsara Picasso was broken into in Queensway on Saturday night after 6.30pm, with wires found to be tampered with.
The thieves smashed the nearside quarter light window to gain entry.
According to a police spokesman, the cowling underneath the steering column was removed and wires tampered with in an apparent unsuccessful attempt to start the car.
A black Kenwood stereo and the vehicle’s log book were stolen.
