AN ELDERLY woman has to be taken to hospital after she was thought to have broken her hip in a fall in Thetford.
Paramedics were called to Laburnum Close at 7.25am to reports of an 82-year-old woman with a suspected open fracture.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was also called to the scene as its team of doctors and paramedics are able give greater pain relief. It had to land near Elvden War Memorial because of the foggy conditions and its team that travelled to the home in a rapid response vehicle.
The sedated woman was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds in a land ambulance. Her condition on arrival was described as serious but stable.
