A THEATRE is offering Christmas partygoers the chance to add a little drama to their wardrobe by hiring outfits from its stunning array of costumes.
Those who have walked through the arc shopping centre, in Bury St Edmunds, during the past week may have noticed a shop with a special display created by the Theatre Royal’s wardrobe department.
This is not only to remind shoppers of the theatre’s Christmas panto Dick Whittington, which opens today, but also to showcase some of the costumes available for hire, for around £12 a week, from the theatre’s professional wardrobe department.
There are hundreds of costumes available from Theatre Royal productions past and present, from Georgian frocks and good fairies to panto dames and highwaymen.
The wardrobe department has professionally made costumes for all ages and sizes, available for hire to companies, groups or individuals.
Wardrobe mistress Heidi McEvoy-Swift said: “We have a selection of historical garb, from Shakespearean doublets to our fantastic Georgian wardrobe (think Pride and Prejudice) right up to glamorous contemporary frocks, all available for hire – fantastic if you want something a little different for this year’s Christmas party.”
For more information about the clothes on offer, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01284 769505.
Anyone with clothes to donate should take them to the theatre in Westgate Street, Bury.
