HUNDREDS braved the wet weather at the weekend for the 51st Stowmarket Carnival.
Soggy carnival goers were treated to days of top entertainment including live bands, food stalls, funfair rides and a procession through the down.
There was a brief break in the clouds on Saturday where trapeze group, Above and Beyond, showed off their daredevil feats followed by a stunning display by the London Chinese acrobats.
On Sunday, the weather was even worse and a few of the bands due to perform had to be cancelled for health and safety reasons.
But the crowds didn’t let the rain dampen their spirits and flocked to the dog show and car show as a finale to the event.
Denise Hutton, chairman of Stowmarket Carnival, said although the weather was bad, everyone had a great time.
She said: “It certainly was a wet one this year. Even though the weather was bad everyone had big smiles on their faces and had great fun.
“My team worked so hard this year to help make the event what it is – they all gave 110 per cent. Everything went smoothly and according to plan, apart from the weather.”
