A monthly tea dance staged at the British Sugar Social Club has raised £1,000 for the West Suffolk Voluntary Association for the Blind.

The monthly dances are organised by Jackie and Peter Fairweather and Keith Gulliver and Beryl Clancy.

They have been running since 2012 and are helfd on the last Sunday of each month. To date the dancers have raised £3,000 and hand over a donation of £1,000 to chosen charities.

Keith, a trustee and volunteer for the WSVAB said: “We very much enjoy our and it is a great achievement to support our local organisations, in particular WSVAB on this occasion, while we and all those who attend have a great time dancing.”

WSVAB executive manager Stephanie O’Donoghue said: “It is heart warming to know that in these difficult times people will contonue to donate funds for local vvoluntary organisations and even better that thhey can raise the money by enjoying themselves.”
