A POLICE sergeant has completed an open water swim to raise money for charity.
Sgt Neil Paterson, from Stowmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team, swam the two-mile course in one hour and 47 minutes at the Alton Water Great East Swim.
He has raised £330 so far for his chosen charity, the National Society for Epilepsy. He decided to support the charity after his 15-year-old daughter, Bethany was diagnosed with epilepsy.
“It was a lovely day, the atmosphere was great and you get a great buzz when it’s done,” he said.
He completed the swim on Saturday with friends from Moreton Hall Health Club. To make a donation go to www.justgiving.com/Neil-Paterson178
