Mike Kirkham, business support officer for Bury St Edmunds’ Business Improvement District (BID) Ourburystedmunds, has left the organisation to take up a position with Suffolk Police.
Mike, who joined BID six months ago, said it had been a ‘privilege’ to be part of an ‘excellent’ team that works ‘tirelessly on behalf of its members to ensure the town continues to be a great and welcoming place’.
He added: “I have enjoyed my time working for Ourburystedmunds business improvement district which has given me a fascinating insight into the workings of business within a town centre. It has been my pleasure to have supported so many great businesses and their teams who work so hard to provide excellent services for the town.”
Mark Cordell, chief executive of the organisation, said Mike had left to take up a role within a specialism he worked in before retiring from the police force as an officer.
“I would like to thank him for all his hard work since he joined us and he has made considerable progression on some key issues,” he said.
Mike added: “As I return to public service I’m confident this experience will assist me in my new role. I will continue to be a great supporter of Bury and the excellent work of the BID in promoting the town - it’s a great place with so much to offer.”
