There was swinging, swaying and records playing as dance enthusiasts took to the streets in Bury to showcase their footwork.

Inspired by the sunny weather, dancers from Strictly Saturdays strutted, kicked and glided through the waltz, quick step, fox trot, tango and salsa in the arc shopping centre.

The free Strictly Saturdays sessions, organised by John Biggs, are held once a month in The Apex from 2.30-4.30pm to give dancers of all abilities the chance to take to the floor.

Mr Biggs said: “I thought it would be an idea to have some dancing outside while the sun was here. A bit of a crowd gathered and several people joined in. Those who didn’t dance took the chance to sit with a cup of tea and coffee and enjoy the music.” The next Strictly Saturday is on September 14.
