A group of talented students from Stowmarket High School have put on a play tackling views on mental illness – raising £407.01 for Suffolk Mind in the process.
Salients was performed at the John Peel Centre in Stowmarket on January 17 followed by a talk from the mental illness charity.
Student Sophie Reed said: “Within society today there are still many misconceptions of mental illness.
“With Salients our aim was to open people’s eyes to these mental health issues in particular schizophrenia.
“We were amazed by the support we received from the public and are very proud of the amount of money we were able to raise for Suffolk Mind.”
Headteacher Keith Penn said: “There is lack of sympathy towards mental illness in society, however the students dealt with the subject exceptionally well.”
