A group of students at Stowmarket High School have started their own enterprise group.

Working alongside Stowmarket Town Centre Partnership, the six business studies students have joined forces with Red Lodge based sweets company Nutz About Sweets to sell a variety of treats at Style@Stow ‘start-up shop’ in the town on Tuesday.

Profits from the venture will go to buy more stock and different products to sell - the plan being to pass the venture on to new business studies pupils in the future.

Head of Social Sciences Faculty at the school, Maria Bett-Davies, said: “We are trying to set up a sustainable enterprise group at the school.

“It is a really exciting project, there is a quite a buzz among the students.”

Town Centre Manager Sharon Brown said: “This is a way of giving the students a real hands-on opportunity at running their own business.”
