Two students at King Edward VI School are fund-raising for a once in a lifetime trip to shadow doctors in a rural hospital in North Thailand.
Jess Larwood and Hannah Mayhew need to raise £5,000 between them for the visit to Chiang Mai with 10 per cent going towards the hospital’s development.
Anything over that amount will go towards buying a piece of equipment to take with them.
Their main fund-raiser is a Thai cultural evening at the Farmers Club, where businesses can buy tables for a three course Thai meal.
Barclays will match anything they raise. They are looking for local businesses to sponsor a course.
Jess said: “This great opportunity will directly enhance our applications for medicine at univeristy.”
