MANY people run marathons for charity, but Stuart Millar plans to run two in a week.
The Ousden runner hopes to raise £5,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care doing the Paris Marathon on April 15 and then London’s on April 22.
“I’m not going to turn up and plod round,” he said. “I want to break three hours 15 minutes in Paris and get a good time in London.”
He is no novice, having run in Paris, New York, Boston, London and Chicago – for the hospice, Cancer Research UK and Leukaemia Research.
He started after his father-in-law Grahaeme Carter died of cancer at the Bury St Edmunds hospice in 2008. Running made Stuart lose six stone. “We lost him but probably gained a few more years on my life because I got fitter”
His 2012 fund was given a £1,000 start by Susie Norman, from Stadishall, the owner of Colourbox nursery, in Newmarket. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/stuartmillar2in1
