WITH only seven weeks to go until the big day, plans for royal wedding celebrations are already in full swing.
If you want to throw a street party on April 29 then the time to organise it is nearly up. Applications for road closures must be made to St Edmundsbury Borough Council by Monday, March 14.
The council does not charge for road closures, but the closure of some through roads may incur costs for party organisers if traffic plans and diversions are needed.
St Edmundsbury Borough Council is encouraging people to hold street parties in private streets, cul-de-sacs and no through roads to avoid these complications.
The Bury Free Press wants to hear about how you and your community are celebrating the big day. If you are holding a street party or another royal wedding event, call us on 01284 757845.
