A pentecostal church has extended a festive invitation to the people of Bury St Edmunds.

From 7pm-8.30pm on December 5, the Christian Resource Centre, in Oakes Road, will host a Christmas carol service.

The free event, being held for the third year running, will feature the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir on what will be its first performance on the Howard estate.

The night may also include some readings by children or performances of some ‘special’ songs.

Asda will be providing refreshments free of charge and there will be a collection in aid of Riverwalk School for anyone wishing to donate.

Pastor Sujith Alex said: “Christmas is for many a time for giving, receiving and creating great memories with special people and what a fantastic idea it is for the entire community to get together for an evening to do just that.

“Asda, the Christian Resource Centre, the St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir and, most importantly, many of the Bury St Edmunds residents are really excited and looking forward to this.”

Everyone is welcome to attend but organisers have warned that places will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.
