Anyone wanting to learn about becoming a Suffolk Police Special Constable is being invited to a series of evenings across the county.

The force has about 250 people who volunteer for a few hours each month to support full-time officers.

A spokeswoman said: “Whether you’re interested in volunteering to get a taste of police work before applying for a full-time career, or think that it might be an interesting and rewarding way to give something back to your local community, the recruitment team would like to hear from you.”

You must be over 18.

There is a meeting on Friday at Brandon Police Station from 7pm, then at the Quality Hotel, Symonds Road, Bury St Edmunds at 7.30pm on April 13 and Cedars Hotel, Needham Road, Stowmarket at 7.30pm on May 11. There are evenings in Bury in June and October and Stowmarket in August and November.
