SNOWDROPS are blooming and in Thorpe Morieux and Thetford visitors enjoyed the early heralds of spring.
At St Mary’s Church, in Thorpe Morieux, the annual snowdrop day on Saturday raised £454 for church funds.
Cathy Hobbs, churchwarden, said: “The day went really well considering the horrible weather we had. “We are grateful that so many people came forward as running an ancient church can be very expensive.”
Meanwhile, at Avenue House, St Nicholas Street, Thetford, the Cunnell family opened their garden as the first of spring gardens which will be ‘popping up’ ahead of the town’s annual Open Gardens on June 26. This raised £72 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
