The shop held a special launch party to make the move last Thursday.

And just a week into the new shop, Chris said they are already seeing more customers.

“We like to keep it fresh,” he said.

“We originally opened at number 12, then we took on number 13 in 2009 – now we have moved next door from there to number 14.

“We have been hopping down the street but hopefully we will be staying in this one for a nice long time.”

He said customers had described the previous shops as a rabbit warren but had complimented the space the new shop has to offer.

The shop also has an upstairs area where Chris will sell hardware including snowboards, snow boots and ski boots.

“We had a very limited amount of space before. We have a lot more room now for people to come in and try things on,” said Chris.

“We always had this plan to grow and we started with a small shop which served us well. But that was before the recession and we have had to adjust and adapt.”

He said reaction to the new shop has been positive.

“It seems to be bringing in a lot more people. Having a big wide shop front, probably helps psychologically to bring new people in.

“Already we can see it is bringing new customers which is fantastic for us. We are really pleased with the move we made.”
