More than 50 children had an ‘awesome’ time at Southgate Church’s Lego Movie themed holiday club last week.
The event, from Tuesday August 25 to Friday August 28 at the Southgate Community Centre in Bury St Edmunds, saw a variety of activities take place, from a screening of the hit movie, crafts, games, cookery and much more.
Alison Burgess, a family and community worker at the church said: “The holiday club has been run by the church for more than 30 years. “We had over 50 children who came along during the week and most children came every day.
“We also had more than 30 volunteers helping through the week.
“We had young people from our youth groups helping with the games and some of our older members helping out with the crafts. “It was a real team effort from young people to people in their 70s.
“The children all had a really good time - it was an awesome week.”
