Skills minister MP Matthew Hancock visited West Suffolk College to talk to young people who are getting help towards finding employment.

Mr Hancock met students from the School of Participation at the college in Bury St Edmunds, and heard how itis helping them gain confidence and skills.

He also talked to employers about the Government’s Traineeship programme which can help with English and Maths, work placements of up to five months, as well as writing a CV and interview practice.

The traineeship scheme was only introduced last month for 16-24 year olds.

Angela Gant from EBP ( Education Business Partnership) and Mark Jepson from Havebury Housing Partnership, who are both offering the traineeships and who have been working with the college, met with Mr Hancock, MP for West Suffolk, during Friday’s visit.
