Graphic design students at West Suffolk College are staging some of their work at the Abbeygate Picture House.

The Level 3 students studying for a BTEC extended diploma were tasked to design and screen print posters to promote three different films of their choice.

The designs had to be alternative solutions to the original film posters and showcase their communication skills through the artwork.

On Tuesday their exhibition opened at the Abbeygate Picturehouse in Hatter Street and will run until February 11.

Andrea Holmes, marketing manager for the Abbeygate, said: “The film theme is such a good fit for us and the calibre of the artwork we were shown was of immense quality, we felt that the prints just had to be seen by the general public.

“We also hoped that the opportunity to have their work on display would give the students an incentive with a tangible goal.”

Anyone wanting to purchase a print can do so by contaccting Derek Johnson at the college on 01284 716336 or email derek.johnson@wsc.ac.uk
