The RSPCA is appealing for information about an injured cat found taped into a pet carrier in woodland.
The black and white entire males cat had a serious eye infection and was found, mewing weakly, by a walker near Willow Close, Brandon, on Monday.
RSPCA inspector Emily Astillberry said: “He had a nasty infection in his left eye and his pupil was opaque.
“The vet who examined and treated him thought he was approximately four-years-old and estimated that the injury happened about a week ago.
“You can tell that someone has cared for him at some point because he is a lovely, affectionate cat who is happy to be cuddled.
“He had no collar or microchip and if anyone has any information on who his owner is, can they please call the inspector information line on 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for me.”
The pet carrier was tightly taped up with a lot of brown parcel tape.
Though the RSPCA said it had been left ‘off the beaten track’ in the woods, the carrier contained a dish of food for the animal.
